Job Duties
- Business Data Architect is a role that blends the disciplines of data architecture, business architecture, and business analysis.
- This role is imperative for an efficient and effective transformative program in analyzing our current state and a map to drive to a future state to meet the data requirements and value stream recognition for data and analytics.
- The individuals in this role are responsible for leading the transformation of workstreams and serving as the bridge/liaison between business operations, IT, and the data reporting teams to translate business capture needs, current business/clinical processes into data management principles and models.
- The individual in this role will ensure a conscious, frictionless, and proactive approach to process and data changes as it relates to the work conducted in our Epic ecosystem.
- This position is part of the central analytics team with broad exposure to systems such as the Epic platform, along with clinical workflow and business processes.
- Key partners include clinicians, project managers, analysts, and developers with various domain expertise.
- The BDA will be responsible for informing the design, build, and support of the implementation of Epic design in adherence to a robust data strategy for Enterprise-wide operations and downstream analytics.
- This individual will be an individual contributor/leader within a larger team with the goal of developing a sound data framework on which the organization can confidently drive clinical operations and derive analytic insights from subsequent data outputs, ultimately fostering a data-driven culture.
- Key responsibilities will include partnering closely with a variety of analytics consumers and business stakeholders to gather business requirements that will inform the modeling of data sources and foundational tables.
- This includes documentation of the business processes that create data as well as system business requirements and functional requirements.
- The architect will serve as a trusted analytics partner in key clinical and operational workstreams across the enterprise.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in health science, Computer Science, Math, Engineering, Business, or related quantitative fields
- Certification in the Epic Clarity data model and other Epic clinical or financial data models.
- Eight (8) + years of experience in data warehousing with designing multi-layered data warehouses and data marts using both relational and dimensional modeling techniques.
- Eight (8) + years of experience in integrating data both at logical & physical levels.
- Eight (8) years working with multiple DBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, Teradata, etc). Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into data solutions.
