Job summary

ColonialWebb is seeking a hands-on Data Architect to build the data foundation that informs strategic decisions. Based in Richmond, VA, you will shape the enterprise data roadmap and deliver production Fabric solutions, including ingestion, modeling, and governance, working with business and IT partners.

You will define standards for data integration, lineage, and security, track platform reliability and business value, and collaborate to ensure self-service analytics across OneLake, lakehouses,

Qualifications

• Five+ years of experience in data architecture and related fields.
• Experience designing target architectures for data lakes, lakehouses, or data warehouses.
• Hands-on data solution development, testing, source control, and production support.
• Strong knowledge of governance, metadata, lineage, security, and data quality.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, and Power BI is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess data systems, integrations, and data quality to define priorities.
• Define an enterprise data architecture and phased analytics roadmap.
• Build production Fabric solutions for ingestion, transformation, and models.
• Ensure data governance, security, and cost management across platforms.
• Document architectures and explain tradeoffs to stakeholders.
