Job Description:

The Data Architect will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and refining our data warehouse framework to support our organization's strategic objectives. This includes designing enterprise-level data warehouse solutions using conventional database warehouse technologies and maintaining the corporate data warehouse environment within on-premises and cloud environments. The role involves collaboration with leaders and technologists, driving architectural decisions, ensuring data governance, and implementing scalable data systems. Additionally, the Data Architect will support operational tasks such as managing data integrity, optimizing performance, and scaling solutions to meet evolving business needs. A remote work arrangement is available.

Responsibilities include:
  • Designing and developing scalable, efficient, and secure data architectures leveraging SQL Server, Azure services, and data fabrics.
  • Implementing robust data models, including multidimensional modeling, to support complex business requirements and ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Leveraging Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, and others for cloud-native data solutions.
  • Designing and implementing ETL processes using SSIS and similar tools to integrate data from various sources.
  • Providing oversight on database administration, including architecture, configuration, monitoring, tuning, and security.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and drive successful data architecture implementations.
  • Documenting data architecture designs, standards, and best practices.
  • Maintaining security compliance and adherence to ISO270001 standards.
  • Maintaining a knowledge base with documentation, vendor contacts, change logs, etc.
  • Participating in training, seminars, and industry events to stay current.
  • Participating in team meetings and performing other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications:
  • At least 7 years of IT experience with 4+ years as a Data Architect or similar role.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
  • Experience integrating AI and machine learning models into data architecture.
  • Proficiency in designing big data solutions.
  • Advanced skills in data governance and quality management, especially in multi-cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of modern data platforms, mesh, lakehouse architecture, and data fabrics.
  • Experience with AI-driven software development, including large language models and vector databases.
  • Demonstrated experience in data warehousing principles, technologies, and architectures.
  • Extensive SQL development and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with ETL development using SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022).
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and flexibility in work hours.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies.
