Job summary

Adaptive Solutions Group is seeking a senior Data Architect to design and guide enterprise data architecture across Microsoft Fabric and on‑premises SQL Server. You will establish data integration, modeling, governance, and reporting standards while partnering with engineering, infrastructure, security, and business teams.

The role focuses on defining data patterns, modeling, and governance, with collaboration across data governance and analytics teams to ensure data quality and accessibility

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or related field.
• 5+ years designing and delivering enterprise data solutions, incl. 2+ years in data architecture or lead data engineering.
• Experience architecting a cloud analytics platform such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, or Databricks.
• Strong on-premises SQL Server experience, including T-SQL, database design, indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning.
• Expertise in dimensional modeling, star schemas, medallion architecture, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience integrating on-premises data sources with cloud platforms using gateways, CDC, or incremental load patterns.
• Working knowledge of Power BI semantic models, DAX, row-level security, Python or PySpark, Git, and Azure DevOps.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical decisions to business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define the data architecture and roadmap for workloads across Microsoft Fabric and on-premises SQL Server.
• Establish Bronze, Silver, and Gold data patterns, including ingestion standards, conformed data models, and governed star schemas.
• Design logical and physical data models and maintain architecture documentation, a business glossary, and a data dictionary.
• Architect integrations from SQL Server, enterprise applications, APIs, and files into Fabric and OneLake.
• Define CDC, incremental loading, and watermarking approaches balancing data freshness and performance.
• Design Fabric workspace structure, capacity allocation, deployment processes, and source-control standards.
• Set standards for Power BI semantic models, connectivity, and row-level security.
• Partner with data governance teams on cataloging, lineage, classification, data quality, and reconciliation.
• Design data access patterns that support AI and analytics use cases.
• Mentor data engineers and analysts and review significant data designs before implementation.

• Experience modeling financial reporting data, such as general ledger, cost center, or allocation data.
• Experience establishing enterprise architecture standards and participating in design reviews.
• Located in the Kansas City metro area.
