Job summary

University Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Student Assistant to join the Data Management Unit in the County’s IT organization for a limited 3-month term.

The role supports senior IT staff in building dashboards, data solutions, and internal applications using Power BI, SQL, Spark, and .NET languages. You will work on real-world data projects, gain hands-on experience with enterprise tools, and develop both technical and professional skills under mentorship.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in at least six-semester units or nine quarter units for undergraduate students.
• Four-semester units or six quarter units for graduate students.
• Willingness to learn, problem-solve, and collaborate.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with data & BI tools such as Power BI, SQL, Spark.
• Experience with programming languages such as C#, Python, .NET.
• Experience with development environments such as Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior IT staff with design, development, and maintenance of dashboards and internal applications.
• Work with data from multiple sources to support Power BI and other reporting tools.
• Participate in coding, testing, and documentation activities.
• Help troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing applications and dashboards.
• Contribute to team meetings, project planning, and technical discussions.
• Additional duties may be assigned based on skills and interests.
