About the Role

We are seeking a Data Linguist to assist with annotations and data analysis for a multilingual platform. As part of the data team, you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality training data to ensure the best performance of machine learning systems. Our goal is to produce the highest quality training data in the industry and enhance human language understanding and natural language processing.

Languages Required

Fluency or native proficiency in the following languages is required:

French and English

Linguists should have proficient English abilities in order to translate work between languages.

Key Responsibilities

Annotate, generate, and ensure quality assurance of linguistic data, identifying linguistic categories through detailed annotation while strictly adhering to guidelines.
Work closely with other data linguists to resolve ambiguities and inconsistencies in annotations.
Conduct in-depth qualitative error trend analysis and develop action plans to enhance data quality.
Collaborate with linguists, data scientists, and operations managers to drive innovation in processes, automation, and workflows.
Provide feedback to external annotation teams to improve overall data quality and accuracy.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Philosophy, Cognitive Science, or Foreign Languages.
Fluency or native proficiency in one of the required languages.
Strong ability to identify linguistic ambiguity, grammatical inaccuracies, and analyze linguistic data.
Experience with linguistic annotation.
Familiarity with JSON, YAML, XML, or other text markup formats.
Ability to navigate a Unix terminal and use common command‑line tools.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Linguistics, Communications, Computational Linguistics, or other language/data‑related disciplines.
Strong understanding of Natural Language Processing (NLP) concepts and techniques.

Salary Range: $62,000-$72,000 Annually – Factors that may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications the successful candidate.
