We’re seeking a joyful, self-motivated, dynamic, and thoughtful individual who believes in progressive inquiry-based education and has a proven track record of using, organizing, and interpreting school-level data to join our staff as a 12-month employee.

The Inspired Teaching Demonstration School serves PK through 8th grade. At the school, a professional learning community of master teachers and teacher residents ensures that a diverse group of students achieve their potential as accomplished learners, thoughtful citizens, and imaginative and inquisitive problem solvers through a demanding, inquiry-based curriculum. The school aims to be a model of instruction and teacher training, with a focus on transforming educational practices nationwide.

The Role of a Data and Assessment Manager

The Data and Assessment Manager supports the school’s data management and data-driven practices. They are responsible for managing and analyzing academic data, overseeing reporting and compliance, coordinating assessments, and liaising with organizations like OSSE and the DC Public Charter School Board. They work closely with and are supervised by the Principal.

Responsibilities

The Data and Assessment Manager's responsibilities include:

  • Data maintenance and management:
  • Manage and maintain all student-level academic and behavior data
  • Provide reports and analysis to instructional leaders to identify trends and students needing intervention
  • Prepare and report school-wide assessment data to leadership
  • Develop and maintain the Empower K-12 school performance dashboard
  • Support data-driven school improvement goals
  • Understand external evaluation criteria and assist in meeting reporting deadlines
  • Monitor qualitative data collection to ensure high-quality student work is documented
  • Compliance and accountability:
  • Represent the school in district planning and assessment work teams
  • Respond to data requests and complete reporting for external agencies
  • Assist with annual performance reports
  • Improve data collection and management processes
  • Develop and refine school policies related to data management
  • Testing Coordination:
  • Serve as testing coordinator for OSSE and internal assessments
  • Create assessment calendars and coordinate testing logistics
  • Ensure proper ordering and reporting of standardized testing materials
  • Manage testing processes and staff training
  • Report assessment data to relevant stakeholders
The ideal candidate will…
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree
  • Have experience in data analysis and presentation
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
  • Be comfortable working with large datasets in CSV and XLS formats
  • Experience with student information systems like PowerSchool is preferred
  • Establish strong relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Provide culturally responsive data services
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Thrive in an innovative environment and support school systems
  • Possess excellent communication and analytical skills
