Job summary

Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS) is seeking an experienced FP&A professional to lead budgeting, forecasting, and executive reporting. You will develop models, deliver insights, and support strategic decisions for a large, multi-location cancer care network.

The role emphasizes data governance, standardized reporting, and cross-functional collaboration to improve financial performance and decision transparency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 6+ years in FP&A, financial modeling or analytics.
• Experience presenting to senior leadership.
• Strong forecasting, budgeting and strategic analysis skills.

Utilizing innovative clinical research, cutting‑edge technologies, and advanced treatments, we are committed to providing world‑class cancer care. We are recognized by the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) with a national Clinical Trials Participation Award, FCS offers patients access to more clinical trials than any private oncology practice in Florida. Our patients have access to ground‑breaking therapies, in a community setting, and may participate in national clinical research studies of drugs and treatment protocols. In the past five years, the majority of new cancer drugs approved for use in the U.S. were studied in clinical trials with FCS participation prior to approval. Through our partnership with Sarah Cannon, we are one of the largest clinical research organizations in the United States. Often, FCS leads the nation in initiating research studies and offering ground‑breaking new therapies to patients.

PRIMARY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Budget & Forecasting Support

Support and enable the models and analytical frameworks for building budgets & forecasts. Develop and refine transparent, repeatable reporting and models that explain performance drivers and support executive understanding of changes over time.

Executive Reporting and Decision Support

Deliver concise, executive‑ready reporting packages that summarize performance, explain results, and highlight risks and opportunities. Build “so what” insights that help leadership understand what is changing, why it matters, and what actions may improve outcomes. Tailor analyses for different leadership audiences.

Analytical and Strategic Support

Support the full range of analytical, reporting, and strategic needs for FCS. Contribute to ad hoc analyses, business cases, profitability reviews, strategic planning efforts, and leadership requests. Help prioritize opportunities to improve financial performance and strengthen visibility into key business drivers.

Data Governance, Standardized Reporting, and Automation

Own data governance and standardized reporting logic as the primary mandate, establishing a single, trusted source for financial data and reporting. Build and enhance repeatable reporting tools and dashboards that provide timely and accurate performance visibility. Improve efficiency through automation, standardized reporting logic, and disciplined data governance. Ensure outputs are auditable, scalable, and easy for stakeholders to interpret.

Continuous Improvement and Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Partner across finance, operations, and practice leadership to identify opportunities for process improvement and stronger performance management. Recommend enhancements to tools, reporting routines, and analytics approaches that improve visibility, alignment, and decision support over time.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MS or similar) in finance, analytics or related field preferred. CPA or CFA a plus.

EXPERIENCE

6+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, financial modeling, or analytics, with a demonstrated track record of leading complex forecasting and budgeting initiatives in a large, matrixed organization. Excellent financial modeling & problem‑solving skills. Executive presence and experience with presentations to various leadership levels. Ability to provide strategic recommendations and influence stakeholders to make decisions.

CORE COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Deep expertise in advanced analytics, statistical modeling, and AI/ML applications for forecasting.
• Mastery of Excel, Sigma/Power BI/Tableau, and financial systems (e.g., Workday, SAP, Oracle, Hyperion).
• Financial systems experience with ability to reconcile information from multiple sources.
• Motivated self‑starter that is well organized, dependable, efficient and results‑oriented.
• Strong time management and organization skills with flexibility to work in a fast‑paced and changing work environment.
