Job summary

The State of Nebraska's Health & Human Services agency seeks an IT Analyst I to support the CFS Data and Analytics team statewide. You’ll design, maintain, and analyze databases, and build dashboards to inform decision-making for child welfare programs.

You will extract data, perform statistical analyses in R or Python, and help ensure accurate state and federal reporting. This role emphasizes data quality, collaboration, and timely insights for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Computer Science/IT and one year experience in related IT work.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in CS, IT, data analytics, or related field.
• Strong SQL, Power BI, and Excel skills required; experience with data warehouses is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and analyze databases to support child welfare data reporting.
• Build dashboards in Power BI and Excel for leadership and staff.
• Conduct data analysis and support compliance reporting (AFCARS, NCANDS).
