Job summary

Astec Industries seeks a Data Analyst Intern to support procurement data collection, organization, and dashboard work across subsidiary companies. You’ll collaborate with the Strategic Procurement team to understand current systems and identify opportunities to simplify and improve processes.

The internship offers hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau, and Alteryx, and exposure to real-world data analytics and reporting practices in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Data Analytics, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of data analysis and reporting concepts.
• Familiarity with Excel; experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Alteryx is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain data concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Identify processes and procedures that are inefficient or repetitive and seek ways to streamline, eliminate, and automate.
• Create best-in-class/compelling visualization of data, dashboards, tools, and reports that supports the interpretation and conclusions that drives key decisions for leadership.
• Drive BI penetration into the Business’ processes, and help the Enterprise with strategic, tactical, and operational decision making using BI toolsets.
• Build strong credibility to become a trusted and sought-after partner for business teams seeking guidance on how to use analytics.
• Support all Enterprise analytical BI in terms of data availability, accuracy, and definitions; system functionality, instructions, and proper usage; ad hoc/customized reporting of data.
