Job summary

Astec Industries seeks a Data Analyst Intern to support procurement data collection, organization, and dashboard development across subsidiary companies. You’ll work with Strategic Procurement to maintain dashboards and translate technical concepts for business users.

You will gain hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau, and Alteryx, plus exposure to real-world data analytics and reporting practices, contributing to process improvements and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Data Analytics, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Basic knowledge of data analysis and reporting concepts
• Familiarity with Excel; experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Alteryx is a plus
• Programming languages such as Python, Perl, C, C++, Java preferred
• Experience in data modeling and data profiling; exposure to enterprise data analytics and reporting processes
• 1+ years minimum of Alteryx experience using Designer, Server and Connect
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to business users and stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Identify processes and procedures that are inefficient or repetitive and seek ways to streamline, eliminate, and automate
• Create best-in-class visualizations of data, dashboards, tools, and reports that support interpretation and leadership decisions
• Drive BI penetration into business processes to support strategic, tactical, and operational decision making
• Build credibility as a trusted partner for business teams seeking analytics guidance
• Support all Enterprise analytical BI in terms of data availability, accuracy, and definitions; system functionality, and ad hoc reporting
