Job summary

JMP USA in Greensboro, NC seeks a Data & Analytics Engineer to design, build, and support data and reporting solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and SQL. You will deliver trusted analytics, reliable data models, and actionable insights to inform business decisions.

The role emphasizes data modeling, ETL/ELT, documentation, and security controls, with opportunities to collaborate across the organization and occasional travel to the Greensboro home office.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL/T-SQL with joins, CTEs, aggregations, window functions, data validation, and query troubleshooting.
• Python or PySpark for data prep, validation, notebooks, or automation.
• Hands-on Power BI development: Power Query, semantic models, reports, publishing, refresh.
• Understanding of dimensional modeling: fact/dim tables, star schemas, grain, keys, SCDs.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, dependencies, and error handling.
• Ability to reconcile data from source systems through transformation layers to published reports.
• Experience creating clear technical documentation and translating business definitions into governed analytics.
• Knowledge of security concepts affecting analytics, including access management and row-level security.
• Basic Git or Azure DevOps source-control practices.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
