Job summary

KellyMitchell is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer for a contract role focusing on dimensional data modeling and analytics foundation. You will design star-schema models, build DBT pipelines, optimize Snowflake SQL, and partner with cross-functional teams to scale analytics solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain star-schema data models, including fact and dimension tables.
  • Build and support DBT models, testing frameworks, and transformation pipelines.
  • Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL workloads within Snowflake.
  • Apply data modeling best practices, including dimensional design, normalization, and denormalization techniques.
  • Partner with Data Engineers, BI Developers, Product Owners, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable analytical solutions.
  • Support data delivery from ingestion through transformation and into reporting and analytics layers.
  • Document data models, architectural decisions, and engineering standards.
  • Promote consistency in modeling practices and data governance across the organization.
  • Help improve and maintain the analytical platform as data volume and business demands continue to grow.

Job Summary

Our client, a leading Energy & Utilities provider, is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer to join their team! While the role carries an Analytics Engineer title, the primary focus is on dimensional data modeling and building the analytical foundation that supports enterprise reporting and analytics. This position is ideal for a hands-on data professional with strong experience in DBT, Snowflake, and star-schema design who enjoys partnering with cross-functional teams to create scalable, analytics-ready data solutions.

Core Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain star-schema data models, including fact and dimension tables
  • Build and support DBT models, testing frameworks, and transformation pipelines
  • Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL workloads within Snowflake
  • Apply data modeling best practices, including dimensional design, normalization, and denormalization techniques
  • Partner with Data Engineers, BI Developers, Product Owners, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable analytical solutions

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $38.00 and $55.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
