Job summary

KellyMitchell is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer for a contract role focusing on dimensional data modeling and analytics foundation. You will design star-schema models, build DBT pipelines, optimize Snowflake SQL, and partner with cross-functional teams to scale analytics solutions.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on DBT, Snowflake, and dimensional modeling experience, with strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with DBT development and testing.
• Extensive experience with Snowflake and SQL performance optimization.
• Proven expertise designing and implementing star-schema dimensional models.
• Deep understanding of fact and dimension modeling concepts.
• Experience supporting enterprise data warehousing and analytics environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Self-starter mindset with the ability to learn independently through technical documentation and knowledge bases.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain star-schema data models, including fact and dimension tables.
• Build and support DBT models, testing frameworks, and transformation pipelines.
• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL workloads within Snowflake.
• Apply data modeling best practices, including dimensional design, normalization, and denormalization techniques.
• Partner with Data Engineers, BI Developers, Product Owners, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable analytical solutions.
• Support data delivery from ingestion through transformation and into reporting and analytics layers.
• Document data models, architectural decisions, and engineering standards.
• Promote consistency in modeling practices and data governance across the organization.
• Help improve and maintain the analytical platform as data volume and business demands continue to grow.
