Job summary

ITT Inc. in Irvine, CA is seeking a Data Analytics / AI Intern for Summer 2027. You will support BI development, dashboards, and data analysis across IT, engineering, operations, and business units.

The role emphasizes hands-on learning with Power BI, Power Automate, SQL, and data modeling to transform manual reports into automated insights. You will document data sources and participate in backlog planning.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Analytics.
• Knowledge of Power BI (or Tableau) and Power Automate.
• Foundational knowledge of SQL preferred but not mandatory.
• Previous ERP knowledge and navigational ability a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and recurring analytics reports.
• Gather and document business requirements by collaborating with IT, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders.
• Analyze and interpret data from various enterprise data sources to identify trends and generate actionable insights.
• Validate report logic, data accuracy, and dashboard functionality with business users.
• Review existing reporting processes in legacy Excel / MS Access and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, data quality, and automation.
• Assist with transforming manual reports and ad hoc data requests into standardized, repeatable dashboards and reporting solutions.
• Ability to understand data architectures for relational databases in different systems, primarily ERPs.
• Ability to leverage AI solutions to develop, maintain, or complement dashboard creation or functional specification creation.
• Support the development of AI-assisted prototypes and practical automation solutions for knowledge search, service analytics, and operational reporting.
• Document data sources, business requirements, reporting processes, governance considerations, and recommended next steps.
• Maintain a prioritized backlog of analytics and AI opportunities based on business value and data readiness.
• Present project outcomes, key findings, and recommendations to IT and business stakeholders at the conclusion of the internship.
