Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Data Analyst to perform basic analysis, validate business conclusions with data research, and support business intelligence initiatives within the Data Science & Analytics function.

Responsibilities include building complex SQL queries, dashboards, and data workflows, applying data structures, and using Python for model planning and insights. Collaboration with an agile team is essential to enhance processes and deliver accurate data stories.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field with 1–4 years of experience.
• Strong SQL, data visualization, ETL pipelines, and database management experience.
• Proficient in Python for data analysis and modeling.
• Ability to apply standard data analysis practices and judgments.
• Strong organizational skills and curiosity.

Responsibilities

• Use SQL and other scripting languages to develop and maintain complex queries that pull and curate data from multiple sources.
• Develop and maintain data dashboards and associated assets including scripts, tables, workflows, and supporting processes in accordance with team standards.
• Apply fundamental data structures and algorithms to solve complex problems.
• Define basic data requirements and gather information using judgment and statistical tests.
• Use programming and evaluation tools (e.g. Python), including open-source programs to plan models and extract insights.
• Apply modeling and optimization methods to improve business performance.
• Develop and maintain data models, data automation systems, low-code solutions, and reporting systems and performance metrics support.
• Develop ad-hoc reporting based on the review of existing data sources.
• Exhibit rigor, judgment, and ability to present a detailed 'data story' to a business line.
• Confirm the quality and integrity of existing data sources.
• Collaborate with the agile development team to provide recommendations and communications on enhancing existing or new processes and programs.
