Job summary

American Dental Education Association (ADEA) seeks an experienced Data Analyst to maintain the ADEA Data Portal and research data platform, ensuring reliable data collection, analysis, and reporting. The role supports the Office of Educational Services and reports to the Senior Vice President, Policy and Education Research.

Based in Washington, DC (hybrid), the analyst collaborates with vendors and internal teams to keep data systems current, dashboards accurate, and documentation complete while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with five years of professional work experience, including three years in quantitative research, data science and/or database management; or master’s degree with three years of relevant experience.
• Higher education research experience in dental education/medical education preferred.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Working knowledge of statistics and ETL techniques.
• Familiarity with data management, data cleaning, and data validation processes.
• Hybrid schedule: onsite at Washington, DC office Monday through Thursday; remote Fridays.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with external vendors to maintain and update the ADEA Data Portal and dashboards for data security and privacy.
• Create additional dashboards and provide technical assistance to members using the Data Portal.
• Upload additional years of data to the research data platform and ensure consistency across years and complete documentation.
• Conduct data collection using surveys, censuses, administrative data collections, and data scraping.
• Process, validate, and analyze collected data.
• Develop spreadsheet-based reports and interactive visual reports.
• Coordinate with ADEA members to refresh contacts and support data submission.
• Automate data collection and processing; develop algorithms to improve analysis efficiency.
• Communicate issues promptly and suggest solutions with teammates.
