Mandatory skills:
80% Power BI Report Development – ability to source data from multiple sources, data modeling in PBI, DAX, complex logic, queries, building the visualizations, proto-typing, data validation, demoing functionality, presentations, ability to train on Power BI
20% Business Analysis – Lead discovery sessions, document needs, understand and document current state data processes, perform data discovery, facilitate requirement gathering, provide data visualization recommendations and best practices

Job Summary: This position entails leading technical teams in the design, development, and implementation of Microsoft PowerBI solutions and utilizing SQL databases. The Senior Technical Lead will be responsible for overseeing project delivery, ensuring technical excellence, and driving innovation in data visualization using Microsoft PowerBI.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage technical teams to deliver high-quality Microsoft PowerBI solutions within specified timelines.
2. Develop and implement PowerBI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to meet business requirements.
3. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for PowerBI projects.
4. Optimize SQL databases and queries to ensure efficient data retrieval and storage.
5. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members on PowerBI best practices and SQL optimization techniques.
6. Troubleshoot and debug PowerBI solutions and SQL databases as needed.
7. Stay updated on latest trends in PowerBI and SQL to recommend and implement innovative solutions.

Skill Requirements:

1. Proficient in Microsoft PowerBI for data analysis, reporting, and dashboard development.
2. Strong expertise in SQL for database design, optimization, and querying.
3. Experience in leading technical teams and managing project deliveries.
4. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and present technical solutions effectively.
5. Problem-solving aptitude with a keen attention to detail.
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities efficiently.

Certifications: Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) in Data Management and Analytics is preferred but not mandatory.

Additional Requirements:

1. 4 - 5 years' experience building and visualizing reports and dashboards in Power BI.
2. Fluency writing DAX Measures and Calculated Columns.
3. Experience in Data Preparation: Fluency using Power Query and writing SQL queries for data preparation.
4. Demonstrated ability with Data Modeling: Relationships and DAX formulae across 15+ tables data models.
5. Exceptional Data Visualization Skills: being able to quickly provide meaningful insights from data, tell a story, and apply best practices.
6. Strong understanding of Power BI capabilities and uses (both Power BI Desktop and Service).
7. Experience using agile scrum methodology to deliver value-added solutions.
8. Strong leadership, partnership, and proactive verbal and written communication skills.
9. Ability to coordinate with all levels of the organization to design and deliver technical solutions to business problems.
