OCT Consulting LLC is seeking a Data Analyst to support a federal client in Crystal City, VA on-site. OCT currently has an opening for a Data Analystto work with our federal client.
Day to day responsibilities include:
Optimize business rules for the eVetting process (such as Tier 3 initial and preliminary investigations) to safely increase automated pass rates and reduce manual reviews, supporting Trusted Workforce 2.0 objectives.
Analyze investigation and adjudication data, as well as rule test results, to identify bottlenecks in current automated systems.
Conduct comprehensive quantitative, qualitative, and Natural Language Processing (NLP) analysis on unclassified, PII-free data to find the root causes of low automated pass rates.
Interview personnel performing manual interim determinations to understand decision-making processes and capture qualitative operational insights.
Develop actionable written recommendations to modify eVetting business rules to improve efficiency without compromising security standards.
Perform trending analysis to identify shifts in adjudication policy and evaluate the significance of specific data fields (e.g., “Easy Label”).
Recommend opportunities for data enrichment by integrating additional data sources, such as final adjudication outcomes or mitigating applicant information.
Investigate the use of advanced analytical techniques to create predictive and prescriptive insights, including predictive risk models and network analysis to visualize connections.
Communicate, coordinate, collaborate, and liaise with user representatives, program sponsors, mission partners, and other client elements.
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Person/Citizen.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or a related field is required.
Experience: At least five (5) years of progressive experience in data analysis.
Technical Skills: Demonstrated expertise in quantitative, qualitative, and Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques. Familiarity with predictive risk modeling and network analysis is highly desired.
Clearance Requirements: Must possess and maintain a Secret security clearance/eligibility (favorably adjudicated T3 or T3R), though the day-to-day analytical work will be performed on unclassified data containing no Personally Identifiable Information (PII).

Salary Range:$90,000- $120,000 yearly commensurate with experience, education, etc.
