OCT Consulting LLC in McLean, VA is seeking a Junior Data Scientist / Sr Analyst to support a Federal client with data analysis, ETL, and predictive modeling on the Databricks platform. You will clean data, build pipelines, and develop dashboards to drive insights.

The ideal candidate is a U.S. citizen with a minimum BS (MS preferred) in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field, and at least three years of professional experience.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required.
• Minimum BS in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or similar; MS preferred.
• At least 3 years of professional experience.
• Familiarity with FAIR principles, data governance, and AI ethics.
• Hands-on Databricks experience including Unity Catalog setup and privilege models.
• Databricks certifications are preferred.
• Strong documentation, analytical, and communication skills.

Junior Data Scientist / Sr Analyst

OCT Consulting is a business management and technology consulting firm that supports Federal Government clients. We provide consulting services in the areas of Program and Project Management, Acquisition/Procurement, Data Analytics, and Information Technology.

Responsibilities and Duties

OCT currently has an opening for a Junior Data Scientist to support an existing federal client with data analysis and predictive model development on the Databricks platform. Day to day responsibilities include:

• Data cleaning and ETL development with SQL and Python
• Data analysis using SQL and Python
• Building pipelines in Databricks
• Building visualizations with Databricks

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Minimum B.S. (M.S. preferred) in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or similar
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience

Salary Range

$80k - $110k commensurate with experience, skills, and education.
