Goldbelt Professional Services seeks a Data Analyst IV to provide data management and programming support for the Medical Product Safety Branch (MPSB). Summary:

Goldbelt Professional Services is seeking a Data Analyst IV to provide data management and programming support for the Medical Product Safety Branch (MPSB).

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Support Medical Product Safety Branch activities, working with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Support Medication Safety Program projects and studies using large administrative data, applying high-level programming and analytic skills (R, Python, Databricks).
  • Perform complex analytic tasks with minimal oversight, leading analytic projects as appropriate and ensuring accuracy and clarity of plans, coding, and results.
  • Support sharing of analytic code per CDC policies and comply with data use/management policies.
  • Guide and support other data analysts to ensure programmatic goals are met.
  • Attend branch meetings and meetings specific to the Medication Safety Program.
  • Provide updates and input on projects as appropriate.
  • Complete required training to maintain relevant skillsets.
  • Participate during CDC response activities and training exercises under direction of the DHQP Team Lead; duties include staffing the EOC desk to help support CDC's mission.
Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of the principles, concepts, methods and techniques of public health research and evaluation to analyze, evaluate, and provide expert advice and consultation.
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, applications, and state-of-the-art technology in the position's scientific area of responsibility to provide direction and guidance on critical and complex issues.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing to make clear, convincing presentations.
  • Knowledge of the rules, procedures, and principles that govern intramural and extramural program development, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Highly proficient in using Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint).
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making; capable of working independently with ability to multitask successfully.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication in interpersonal exchanges.
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Highly proficient in using various statistical software (SAS, R, Python, etc.)
  • Knowledge of data management systems and application of data management software.
  • Previous experience working with the government procedures and guidelines.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CDC Public Trust Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD plus 5+ years of relevant work experience in a relevant public health or quantitative field.
  • Prior experience working with the CDC is highly desired to understand the culture and environment.
Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $130,000 annually.
