Data Analyst II

(California, Full-time, Remote)

Fisher Phillips, a premier international labor and employment law firm, is seeking an experienced Data Analyst II to join our team. In this role, the Data Analyst II works under the supervision of an attorney, aiming to produce high-quality billable work for our clients and support our attorneys. The role requires providing expertise in client and attorney assistance while managing a busy caseload. The expected billable hours are 1500 or more per year. The performance year runs from October 1 to September 30. Note: The Data Analyst does not provide legal advice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft Damage Models to assess gross damage exposure, design reports and formulas in Excel for scenario analysis, and collaborate with attorneys to manipulate data.
  • Perform Time Card Analysis to identify violations and provide insightful analyses, including 'what if' scenarios with altered parameters.
  • Handle confidential client data, perform quality control tests, and transform data into Excel for analysis.
  • Check model results for quality and report findings.
  • Analyze payroll and time data to verify wage disbursement accuracy.
  • Design and manipulate pay plan calculators in Excel based on contractual criteria, leveraging business acumen.
  • Create and manipulate spreadsheets for business data analysis, such as profit and loss related to cases.
  • Manage project deadlines, ensuring timely progression through project steps.
  • Interpret client data to identify statistical trends via data aggregation, sorting, and analysis.
  • Collaborate with team members, attorneys, paralegals, and class action attorneys.
  • Conduct statistical estimation and testing for adverse impact in employment practices.
  • Use linear and logistic regression modeling and hypothesis testing for pay equity reviews.
  • Utilize Excel to analyze HR data trends.
  • Communicate with HR and legal professionals at Fortune 500 companies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 2-4 years of data analyst experience, legal experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
  • Experience with Python and Tableau preferred.
  • Highly organized, resourceful, and efficient.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects with shifting priorities.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience with billable time and cost analysis.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Responsive to requests and able to work independently.
  • Respectful and tactful interpersonal skills.
  • Team-oriented, proactive, and adaptable to workload changes.
  • Maintain professionalism under stress.

The hourly rate range for this position is $33.65 - $45.65, with actual pay determined by experience, location, and other factors.
