CorVel is seeking a Data Analyst to turn data into information and insights that drive business decisions across departments. This is a remote position with opportunities to impact strategic and tactical initiatives using BI tools.

The role emphasizes data collection, statistical analysis, reporting, and collaboration with both business and technical teams to deliver analytic solutions that add value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field.
• 2-5 years of experience with data analysis.
• Familiarity with standard statistics and BI tools (Excel, SPSS, SAS, Tableau, Chartio).
• Exposure to data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provides strategic and tactical support to the organization by analyzing and interpreting data to provide creative solutions.
• Develops and implements data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.
• Analyzes results of collected data using statistical techniques and provides ongoing reports.
• Identifies, analyzes and interprets trends or patterns in complex data sets.
• Supports end-to-end analysis development, management and delivery.
• Interfaces between various business and technical teams to understand context and business value in data.
• Works closely with internal customers to build relationships; continuously gaining a deeper understanding of relevant data and processes to build analytic solutions to meet business needs.
• Produces dynamic, meaningful, clear and informative reports and dashboards using standard business intelligence tools to help executive management solve highly complex problems.
• Additional projects and duties as assigned.

Job description

The Data Analyst turns data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions that may be best applied to profit. The Data Analyst identifies opportunities and challenges as well as their solutions across multiple departments, to support critical tactical and strategic decisions of CorVel.

This is a remote position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS&RESPONSIBILITIES:

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Mathematics, statistics and data analysis
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to find resources and data both within the organization and external to it
• Ability to understand business objectives and passion for gleaning information and insights from data to help the team achieve them
• Strong computer proficiency and technical aptitude
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in a quantitative field
• 2-5 years of experience with data analysis
• Familiarity with standard statistics and business intelligence tools (e.g. Excel, SPSS, SAS, Tableau, Chartio, etc.)
• Exposure to data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques

PAY RANGE

CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.

For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.

In general, our opportunities will be posted for up to 1 year from date of posting, or until we have selected candidate(s) to fulfill the opening, whichever comes first.
