IPUMS is seeking a Data Analyst 1 to join a team of research and IT professionals. You will manage data and metadata, harmonize codes across datasets, and troubleshoot complex data issues to support population and health survey data work.

The role emphasizes documenting processes, training others, and contributing to grant reporting, with opportunities for conference travel and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or equivalent experience four years.
• Proficiency with statistical software (Stata, R).
• Experience working with census or survey data.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Curious and eager to learn new topics and skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and create data and metadata via the IPUMS processing pipeline; harmonize codes across datasets and resolve comparability issues.
• Write user-facing documentation and training materials; review data processes and communicate progress to team.
• Participate in User Support, travel for conferences, support grant reporting, and analyze data to illustrate IPUMS applications.
