Job summary

The New York State Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs seeks a Data Analyst I to join the Office of Data & Analytics. You will perform data analysis, interpretation, and data management to support agency operations and decision-making.

You'll help create dashboards and reports, ensure data quality, and work with stakeholders to develop analytic models that drive improvements aligned with the agency's strategic plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with two years of data visualization and statistical modeling experience.
• Master’s degree may substitute for one year; Ph.D. may substitute for two years.

Responsibilities

• Support the creation, development, and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and data analysis deliverables.
• Support agency-wide best practices for data analysis and data management.
• Fulfill ad-hoc report requests, data extracts, or general data analysis requests.
• Analyze, clean, and interpret data from disparate sources for written reports and benchmarks.
• Evaluate data sources for reliability or usability.
• Perform data extraction, aggregation, and quality checks.
• Work with stakeholders to develop models for analytic use cases and identify trends.
• Contribute to major assignments related to data analysis to inform performance recommendations.
