Job summary

Flock Freight in the San Diego area is seeking a Data Analyst to turn complex business questions into meaningful insights that improve decision-making across Sales, Account Management, Carrier Sales, and Operations. You’ll own reporting models, dashboards, and ad hoc analysis, writing SQL queries and collaborating with engineers and fellow analysts to deliver reliable data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Approximately 2–4 years of professional analytics experience.
• Strong SQL proficiency with complex queries (joins, CTEs, window functions).
• Experience building dashboards and reporting models with Sigma/Tableau/Power BI/Looker.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills and ability to translate requirements into insights.
• Experience partnering with stakeholders to gather requirements and communicate findings.
• Proficiency with Excel/Sheets for data analysis and reporting.
• Excellent organizational skills and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders across Sales, Account Management, Carrier Sales, and operations to understand reporting needs and translate questions into analysis.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple sources.
• Build and maintain reporting models, dashboards, and analytical tools for visibility into performance.
• Own and prioritize analytics requests, balancing short-term needs with accuracy and efficiency.
• Translate business requirements into structured reporting logic and improve workflows.
• Present findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and cross-functional partners to improve data quality and processes.
• Identify opportunities to streamline recurring reports and automate workflows.
