Job summary

Tyler Junior College seeks a Data Analyst to strengthen institutional decision-making through reliable data management, improved data quality, and stronger data literacy across campus. The role reports to the Director of Institutional Research and partners with campus offices to identify data needs and coordinate data transformation, storage, and reporting.

The position focuses on data extraction, dashboards, and policies to improve data governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
• Two years of experience with databases, reporting, analytics, or related work.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Experience with data extraction and analysis tools.
• Understanding of SQL, directly or via a visual builder tool.

Responsibilities

• Consult with offices to identify data sources and reporting needs.
• Document metadata for data systems, elements, and reports.
• Translate data needs into technical specifications for reporting.
• Assist with design and creation of databases to store institutional information.
• Support data cleaning, transformation, storage, and validation.
• Define data quality metrics and perform data quality audits.
• Create data extracts and dashboards to meet reporting requirements.
• Recommend improvements to data management policies and standards.
• Maintain relationships with campus offices and assist with procedural documentation.
