Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
• Two years of experience with databases, reporting, analytics, or related work.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Experience with data extraction and analysis tools.
• Understanding of SQL, directly or via a visual builder tool.

Responsibilities

What you'll do

• Consult with functional and academic offices to identify data sources and reporting needs.
• Work with subject matter experts to document metadata for data systems, elements, and reports.
• Translate data needs into technical specifications that support accurate reporting.
• Assist with the design and creation of databases to store and manage institutional information.
• Support data cleaning, transformation, storage, and validation to maintain usable datasets.
• Define data quality metrics and perform regular data quality audits.
• Help create data extracts and dashboards to meet reporting requirements.
• Recommend improvements to data management policies and standards.
• Maintain effective working relationships with campus offices and assist with procedural documentation.
• Perform other data management and institutional research-related duties as assigned.

What you bring

Work schedule and logistics

• Work is rarely required outside of normal business hours.
• Location: Tyler, TX (onsite).
• Travel: Yes, minimal.

• Regular and punctual attendance is essential.
