Job summary

Duke University is seeking a Data Analyst, Energy Management to transform utility and energy data into actionable insights. You will support operations, budgeting, sustainability, and planning across Duke campuses and Duke Health.

The role focuses on data accuracy, dashboard development, and analysis to drive cost management and strategic initiatives within the Building Energy Management Department.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required in CS, Accounting, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of three years of experience supporting a data-driven organization.
• Understanding of data flows from source systems to databases.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and manage critical utility data.
• Collect, manage, validate, and analyze utility consumption and financial data.
• Ensure data quality and integrity through monitoring, validation and troubleshooting.
• Identify data discrepancies and implement corrective actions to improve reporting accuracy.
• Support utility billing and financial operations using the EnergyCAP platform.
• Develop routine and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and analytics for stakeholders.
• Analyze energy consumption trends, weather, building occupancy and construction activities for forecasting and planning.
• Develop greenhouse gas emissions reports in partnership with Sustainable Duke.
• Coordinate with Facilities Management to resolve meter and data collection issues.
