Job summary

Utah State Board of Education (USBE) is seeking a Data Analyst to support statewide Career and Technical Education (CTE) research, accountability, and program evaluation. You will collect, validate, and analyze data from multiple systems to inform policy and improve student outcomes.

The role involves creating dashboards and reports, performing statistical analysis with tools like R or Python, and ensuring data quality for federal and Perkins V reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience conducting research, data analysis, program evaluation, or business intelligence work.
• Experience writing T-SQL queries and working with Microsoft SQL Server, including relational databases and data quality practices.
• Experience developing dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI, Fabric, or similar analytics platforms.
• Knowledge of educational data systems, accountability reporting, or state/federal reporting.
• Strong communication, analytical and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze statewide student, program, accountability, fiscal, workforce, and performance data.
• Develop recurring and ad hoc reports for program management and leadership decision-making.
• Write and maintain T-SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from SQL Server and other sources.
• Design, develop, and maintain BI reports and dashboards.
• Support Perkins V and other accountability reporting requirements.
