Position Summary

The Fortune Society’s Behavioral Health division is expanding and requires a Data Analyst to support growth initiatives. Under the Data Analytics Manager, the analyst will analyze data from internal and external systems, create reports, and provide insights to inform operational best practices.

Analytical Thinking: Effectively analyzes and synthesizes data from multiple systems to produce accurate, timely reports. Identifies trends, risks, and performance gaps; anticipates next steps; and delivers data‑driven insights for operational planning and contract compliance.

Project Management: Manages projects throughout the lifecycle, ensures data integrity through consistent monitoring, validation, and quality control, and implements corrective actions as needed.

Collaboration: Partners with program leadership, EQI, IT, and clinical staff to support data analysis and reporting. Communicates complex data clearly to diverse audiences, translating findings into actionable recommendations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Run reports and conduct ongoing analyses using internal databases such as CaseWorthy and EHR, as well as external contract databases.
  • Monitor staff data entry for accuracy and provide training or retraining as required.
  • Advise supervisor on performance trends related to behavioral health contract goals and generate mid‑month analysis reports on key metrics, including preliminary forecasting for Critical Indicators outcomes.
  • Coordinate with the EQI and IT teams to develop and update tools that measure KPIs and track milestones.
  • Obtain a working knowledge of department billing practices to serve as backup for claims billing when necessary.
  • Provide some administrative support as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, public health, human services, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of solid experience with data analysis/management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Excel, and willingness to learn multiple data platforms.
  • Detail-oriented, tech‑savvy, and results-driven.
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds in a culturally competent manner.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to multitask in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment across multi‑functional teams.
Travel Requirements

Occasional travel to other Fortune locations throughout New York City may be required.
