Job summary

Gravity IT Resources is seeking a Data Analyst / Developer to support the Finance Department by designing, developing, and maintaining automation solutions. Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in application development, database administration, or data analytics.
  • Experience with Microsoft Access (design, forms, queries, reports, VBA).
  • Strong SQL development and database experience.
  • Experience developing in PHP and using NetBeans IDE.
  • Scripting with PowerShell to automate data tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing finance department workflows, databases, and spreadsheet-driven processes to identify automation opportunities.
  • Design, develop, and maintain applications and utilities that improve business processes and reduce manual effort.
  • Support and enhance legacy Microsoft Access databases and applications.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, reports, and database structures.
  • Create and maintain web-based tools and internal applications using PHP within the NetBeans development environment.
  • Develop PowerShell scripts to automate data extraction, transformation, integration, and administrative tasks.
  • Consolidate data from multiple sources and ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency.
  • Work closely with finance and business users to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Document systems, processes, and development standards.
  • Troubleshoot application, database, and reporting issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Support ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Position Summary

Local school system is seeking a skilled Data Analyst / Developer to support the Finance Department by designing, developing, and maintaining business process automation solutions. This role will focus on modernizing and streamlining finance operations by leveraging data from legacy databases, Microsoft Access applications, and spreadsheet-based processes.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of data analysis, database development, and automation expertise, with the ability to work directly with business stakeholders to identify inefficiencies and create scalable solutions that improve accuracy, reporting, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze existing finance department workflows, databases, and spreadsheet-driven processes to identify automation opportunities.
  • Design, develop, and maintain applications and utilities that improve business processes and reduce manual effort.
  • Support and enhance legacy Microsoft Access databases and applications.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Power BI dashboards, reporting, and data visualization.
  • Experience supporting finance, accounting, payroll, or public-sector systems.
  • Knowledge of ETL processes and data migration projects.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server environments.
