Job summary

Serco Inc. in the United States is seeking a Data Analyst to join the GLASS team supporting Army Sustainment Command. You will perform analytics to develop algorithms, improve materiel readiness, and deliver data-driven process improvements across defense logistics tasks.

You will design dashboards and reports using Excel, Tableau, Power BI, and other tools, communicate findings, and work with software teams and contractors to implement solutions. A DoD clearance and US citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in data science, mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, engineering, or other related business or quantitative discipline.
• 1 year of experience working directly on a data science team.
• Working knowledge of tools, including object-oriented programming (Python, Java), computational analysis tools (R, MATLAB), and associated data science libraries.
• Experience creating meaningful data visualizations and interactive dashboards using platforms such as Excel, Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, RShiny, plotly, and d3.js to communicate findings and relate them back to how your insights create business impact.
• Working knowledge of databases and SQL.
• Superior communication skills, both oral and written.
• Knowledge of data science methods related to data architecture, data munging, data and feature engineering.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis and analytics to produce algorithms and/or business process recommendations.
• Use data, algorithms, and analyses to identify and apply mechanisms to improve materiel readiness and efficiency through software and business process improvements.
• Address complex analytical challenges and develop comprehensive solutions within systems and workflows.
• Develop analytics and process solution sets with economical, savings-driven answers.
• Communicate courses of action with reporting processes and metrics to monitor outcomes.
• Identify mechanisms to improve mission performance.
• Use qualitative analytics techniques including multi-criteria decision analysis and systems architecture analysis.
• Use logistics and agent-based modeling and simulation.
• Conduct DOTMLPF-P spectrum analysis and optimize logistics processes.
• Produce formal use cases and documentation for technology insertion.
