Job summary

UJA-Federation of New York is seeking a Data Analyst to make our data trustworthy and easy to use. You will build dashboards, define core metrics, and develop AI-assisted analytics to empower fundraising teams.

You’ll collaborate with stakeholders to translate data into actionable insights, improve automated reporting, and ensure high data quality while supporting leadership with clear, data-driven recommendations.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years in data analysis, BI, or analytics, preferably nonprofit or fundraising data.
• Strong SQL skills and ability to verify complex queries.
• Data visualization experience, preferably Power BI.
• Hands-on use of AI tools in analysis, prompts, or simple agents.
• Good judgement on data quality and provenance.
• Clear communication with fundraisers, analysts, and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports across key metrics.
• Define and document core fundraising metrics in a single governed layer.
• Prototype and improve AI-assisted analytics and governance workflows.
• Analyze trends, identify data quality issues, translate insights to recommendations.
• Automate manual reporting and improve data collection and structure.
• Partner with fundraisers to understand needs and enable data-driven decisions.
