Job summary

Commonwealth Trust Company is seeking a Data Analyst to support the transfer of financial data from custodial integrator to the Trust Accounting System for the trusts it serves. The role may also maintain systems, troubleshoot issues, correct and post transactions, and help develop improved processes ongoing.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, MIS, or related field, advanced Excel skills, and experience with trust accounting software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, MIS, data analytics, CS or related field.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (mastery of all functions).
• Prior accounting/finance experience and familiarity with financial statements.
• Experience with Trust Accounting software and data analytics tools.
• Detail oriented with strong problem solving and communication skills.
• Proven ability to work with large data sets and maintain accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Maintains Data Aggregator: adds/deletes accounts.
• Uses Cheetah for transaction imports and custody set-up.
• Pulls daily transactions and preps files for load into Accutech Cheetah.
• Identifies patterns across brokers and data aggregates.
• Maintains historical data and transaction types.
• Reviews and posts transaction import errors and manual entries.
• Supports reconciliation procedures with staff accountants.
• Collaborates with team to improve daily data import processes.
• Executes special data analysis, reporting and accounting projects as assigned.

Job description

FUNCTION: The primary function of the Data Analyst is to assist in maintaining the transferring of financial data from custodial integrator to the Trust Accounting System for the trusts for which Commonwealth Trust Company serves as trustee. This role may also maintain systems, troubleshoot issues, correct and post transactions, and will help develop improved processes ongoing.

It is the responsibility of the Operations Department, to assure that the company’s fiduciary responsibilities are properly discharged as they relate to all areas of trust accounting, clients are served expeditiously and professionally, and that the company’s business is conducted in such a way as to both accomplish our client’s goals without creating undue risk to CTC.
