Job Description

CLS is seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst to support project setup, data governance, reporting, and project system administration. This position is responsible for reviewing approved project setup requests, creating and maintaining project records within CLS’s ERP system, validating project data, supporting reporting, and ensuring project information is accurately reflected across company systems. The Data Analyst will work closely with Business Development, Operations, Accounting, Information Technology, and Project Controls to support project initiation, reporting accuracy, and data integrity throughout the project lifecycle. The Data Analyst will support invoicing readiness by ensuring approved billing requirements and client-specific invoicing instructions are accurately configured within Deltek and related project systems. This includes validating invoice frequency, billing contacts, payment terms, contract types, and other invoicing requirements documented during the Project Setup process. This position requires strong analytical skills, advanced Excel capabilities, experience with Deltek and Power BI, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with reporting systems.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Project Setup & System Administration

• Review approved Project Setup requests for completeness and accuracy.
• Create and maintain project records within Deltek.
• Establish project structures, phases, and work breakdown structures (WBS) based on approved project documentation.
• Configure project master data, billing structures, and project attributes.
• Verify approved invoicing requirements are accurately configured within Deltek and related project systems.
• Support implementation of non-standard billing requirements and client-specific invoice instructions documented during the Project Setup process.
• Coordinate with Accounting, Operations, and Project Controls to resolve project setup and billing configuration discrepancies.
• Maintain billing-related project master data and ensure alignment between approved Project Setup records and Deltek configuration.
• Validate project setup information prior to activation.
• Maintain project setup logs and status reporting.
• Support project revisions resulting from approved scope, budget, schedule, or staffing changes.
• Ensure project data remains accurate and aligned across systems.

Reporting & Analytics

• Develop and maintain project and portfolio reporting.
• Support Power BI dashboard development and data validation.
• Assist with KPI tracking and reporting activities.
• Perform data quality reviews and reconciliations.
• Identify reporting trends, inconsistencies, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Validate reporting accuracy between Deltek, Power Apps, and Power BI.
• Assist with analysis and resolution of project setup or billing data discrepancies that may impact invoicing accuracy.

Data Governance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure project data complies with established governance standards.
• Perform periodic audits of project setup records.
• Support documentation and records management requirements.
• Assist with maintenance of data dictionaries, standards, and reporting guidance.

Cross-Functional Support

• Coordinate with Operations, Accounting, and Project Controls to resolve data issues.
• Support process improvement initiatives.
• Assist with training users on project setup and reporting processes.
• Provide administrative and analytical support as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP or VLOOKUP, data validation, and dashboard creation.

Education and Experience

College degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Project Management, or another business-related field , along with a minimum of one year of related experience in the following areas:

• Experience with data analysis.
• Experience with project administration.
• Experience in project coordination.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Experience reporting and analytics.
• Experience supporting project billing processes, invoice setup activities, or ERP billing configuration preferred
• Experience developing information and making presentations to groups and individuals.
• Experience with data governance.
• Experience in utility, energy, and public infrastructure preferred, but not required.
• Equivalent experience may be substituted for education.

Certification and Licensing

• Applicable driver’s license required for travel to other offices and facilities and to job sites.

Physical Requirements

• Mobility to travel in and around office facilities.
• Availability as needed to work on both a scheduled and call-out basis.
• Ability to travel and work at the assigned job site as needed.
