Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a data analyst in Washington, DC to define numeric measures, transform AWS data into clean analytical datasets, and build automated dashboards with proper data provenance and validation. You will own analyses from stakeholder questions to documented answers and contribute to federal program initiatives.

Job description

Define measures with process owners and document business rules behind every number
Write SQL to transform Amazon Aurora and related AWS data stores into clean, reconciled analytical datasets
Build recurring reports and dashboards with documented measures, refresh schedules, and access controls
Trace discrepancies to definitions, timing, filters, and source systems until numbers are explained
Replace manual reporting with repeatable, tested workflows
Produce data provenance, reconciled datasets, dashboards, reports, visualizations, validation checks, reconciliation reports, and issue logs
Use AI-assisted analysis, coding assistants, and language models across the lifecycle
Help develop new capabilities, tools, and lines of business
Own analyses from stakeholder questions through documented answers and contribute to public-value federal programs

Requirements

• 3+ years of data analysis experience
• Strong working command of SQL
• Experience building reports and dashboards in a business intelligence tool such as Power BI, Tableau, or comparable
• Familiarity with scripting for analysis using Python or R
• Ability to own an analysis from question through delivered, documented answer
• U.S. citizenship
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust determination
• Ability to commute into Washington, DC regularly
• Preferred: Experience with cloud data platforms on AWS
• Preferred: Federal program, financial, or performance data experience
• Preferred: Familiarity with AI-assisted developer and analysis tooling
