YOUR ROLE

The Data Analyst will support Genworth business teams by facilitating timely, accurate, and secure access to operational data. Working across business, analytics, technology, and data teams, this individual will coordinate requests from intake through delivery, execute and modify SQL queries, validate results, and maintain clear documentation throughout the request lifecycle. • Write, execute, and maintain SQL queries across multiple databases to deliver accurate, timely, and business-relevant data solutions.
  • Validate and analyze data extracts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with business requirements and established standards.
  • Collaborate with business partners, data owners, subject matter experts, and technology teams to resolve data questions, dependencies, and access needs.
  • Create and maintain thorough documentation, including request details, requirements, query logic, status updates, and delivery records.
  • Identify opportunities to standardize, automate, and streamline recurring requests through reporting solutions, Power BI dashboards, and other scalable processes, while contributing to broader Operations Analytics efforts through data analysis, report development, testing, and documentation.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field, with 2+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting, business operations, or information management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience using SQL and Excel to retrieve, validate, analyze, and prepare data that supports business decision-making.
  • Ability to translate business needs into clear data requirements, identify data quality issues, and communicate findings, limitations, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable, with proven experience managing multiple priorities, requests, and deadlines while maintaining data accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborative and customer-focused mindset with strong written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive or restricted information responsibly.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with experience documenting processes, streamlining workflows, and leveraging tools such as Power BI, ServiceNow, Power Query, Power Automate, Python, Databricks, or similar technologies to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency.
