Bay College is seeking a Data Analyst on the Escanaba campus to support Institutional Effectiveness. You will manage research projects, dashboards, reporting, and grants, driving data-informed decisions across programs and operations.

Job Summary/Basic Function

The Data Analyst is responsible for supporting InstitutionalEffectiveness at Bay College. This position will manage a varietyof research projects, dashboards, reporting and grant initiatives,contributing to the institution’s overall mission and strategicgoals. This role is pivotal in providing data-driven insights thatenhance the quality of the college’s programs and operations fromthe course level to accreditation. This position will gather andanalyze relevant data that will guide decisions at the institution.This position will make a meaningful impact on the institution’ssuccess and growth. This position is not remote. This position willbe on our Escanaba campus.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in data analysis, computer science,statistics, information technology, business administration,information systems/management, or science with an emphasis inresearch and analysis or a bachelor’s degree in another area butholds relevant work experience in data analytics
  • Strong analytical, data interpretation, critical thinking, andproblem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience working in an enterprise resourceplanning ( ERP system) or database
  • 3+ years of experience in institutional research or dataanalysis
  • Prior work experience with processing detailed information
  • Understanding of accreditation processes in highereducation
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SPSS, SAS, or R
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI,Tableau, or QlikView
  • Experience with SQL, Python, or R programming languages

Typical hours are Monday - Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM with an hour lunchbreak.

Job Duties
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret institutional data to supportdecision-making and strategic planning.
  • Design and conduct research studies to assess the effectivenessof programs and initiatives.
  • Facilitate the development and use of interactive datadashboards and customizable reports that empower employees toanalyze to improve student support, learning and outcomes thatfoster a culture of inquiry, improvement, and data-informeddecision-making.
  • Conduct needs assessment by working collaboratively withdepartments and divisions to design and implement meaningful andeffective supports.
  • Participate in training on use of data dashboards and reportingtools.
  • Prepare and present reports and presentations in a variety offormats (verbal, written, numerical, graphical, etc.) on researchfindings to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Stay current on trends and best practices in institutionalresearch to ensure compliance with regulations andrequirements.
  • Provide custom, primary quantitative and qualitativesurvey/market research including consultation, research design andmethodology, questionnaire development, data collection,tabulation, statistical analysis, and report writing andpresentation for management data-driven decision-making.
  • Interpret and respond effectively to stakeholder and end-userrequests and needs.
  • Serve and lead college committees as needed – requiredparticipation on Data Governance Committee with the expectation ofchair responsibilities when appropriate.
