Mechanical Services & Design is seeking a Data Analyst for an in-person Dayton, OH role. You will transform complex data into actionable insights, develop dashboards, and collaborate with leaders to drive operational excellence.

You will work with Power BI, Excel, Power Automate, SQL, Python, and R to identify trends, improve processes, and deliver data-driven recommendations across the organization.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business, or a related field preferred.
• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 2+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or BI roles or equivalent education/experience.
• Experience with Power BI, advanced Excel, and data analysis tools (SQL, Python, or R) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review, create, and update reporting and dashboards using Power BI, Excel, and Power Automate.
• Communicate requirements and timelines with stakeholders to complete projects effectively.
• Update SOP documentation and maintain system functionality docs.
• Proactively communicate reporting and dashboard needs to supervisors and stakeholders.
• Develop clear SOPs for system usage and document system functionality.
• Produce required reporting on a project basis in Power BI, Excel, or Power Automate.
• Perform data analysis scripting using SQL, R, Python, etc., as needed.
• Partner with CIO and process owners to plan and execute reporting needs.

Job DetailsJob Location: Dayton, OH 45431Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $28.00 - $36.00 HourlyMSD is looking for a Data Analyst to join our team! THIS IS AN IN-PERSON ROLE.

The Data Analyst serves as a strategic partner to the business by transforming complex data into meaningful insights that drive informed decision‑making and operational excellence. In this role, you will collaborate with leaders and cross‑functional teams to understand business objectives, develop impactful reporting and interactive dashboards, and deliver data‑driven solutions that improve efficiency, visibility, and performance across the organization. Leveraging tools such as Power BI, Microsoft Excel, Power Automate, SQL, Python, R, and other data analysis technologies, you will identify trends, uncover opportunities for process improvement, and provide actionable recommendations that support organizational goals.

Key Job Duties

• Review, create, and update reporting and dashboards utilizing required systems such as Power BI, Microsoft Excel, and Power Automate.
• Communicate with appropriate team members and stakeholders to understand requirements and complete projects effectively.
• Review, create, and update Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documentation and maintain system functionality documentation.
• Proactively communicate with Supervisor and business stakeholders around reporting and dashboard needs, ensuring clear understanding of requirements and timelines.
• Work with team to develop clear and concise standard operating procedures for system usage and documents systems functionality.
• Produce required reporting as needed on a project‑by‑project basis in systems such as Power BI, Microsoft Excel, and/or Power Automate.
• Produce required scripting and data analysis using data mining tools and techniques, such as SQL, R, Python, or similar on a project basis.
• Partner with the Chief Information Officer, management, and business process owners to plan and execute on reporting and dashboard needs that support organizational goals.

Candidate Requirements

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business, or a related field preferred.
• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 2+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence roles (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Experience with Power BI, advanced Excel, and data analysis tools (SQL, Python, or R) is highly desirable.
• Able to communicate clearly in written and verbal English.
• US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status required.
• Unencumbered US Driver’s license.
