Job description

The Senior Data & BI Reporting Engineer is responsible for acquiring, cleansing, and analyzing large data sets using technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake, SQL, Python, and Tableau. The role requires collaborating with stakeholders to design and implement ad-hoc data reporting solutions and to provide data for business decision making.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data patterns across disparate complex data sources and structures.
• Design and develop data extractions and complex transformations using ETL tools, with experience in AWS, Databricks, and related cloud technologies.
• Create robust data reporting solutions through Cognos and Tableau to support analytics, research, dashboards, data mining, and trending.
• Produce and present analysis in business language to support decision making.
• Follow the SDLC cycle and ensure rigorous data testing and accuracy.
• Collaborate with business teams to design, develop, test, and refine deliverables.
• Design trending charts using complex datasets.
• Develop complex queries against Mainframe, Oracle, DB2, S3, Databricks, and other data sources.
• Understand enterprise application architecture and best practices for analytical applications.
• Administer the IBM Cognos reporting environment, including user set‑up and security.
• Work with novel data scenarios and technologies, seeking and delivering solutions.
• Interpret complex information and present the most effective path forward.
• Apply technical and business acumen to analysis, design, testing, and implementation of new and existing business processes.
• Innovate by thinking outside the box.
• Communicate complex issues clearly to drive consensus.
• Work cooperatively with team members, and independently when required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or Math (not required but preferred).
• 5–7 years of directly related experience in complex data engineering and analytics.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience with SQL, Databricks, Snowflake, Python, and Tableau.
• Strong knowledge of advanced SQL scripts, procedures, and statements (DML and DDL) against databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, etc.

Salary

The compensation for this role is $61,800.00 – $165,330.00 per year, plus potential bonus, equity, or commission.
