Job summary

Freddie Mac in McLean, VA seeks an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead the Multifamily Data Analytics & AI platform, driving delivery of data pipelines, AI-enabled solutions, and platform modernization.

You will mentor agile squads, set engineering standards, collaborate with Product Owners, ensure compliance and production readiness, and partner with architecture and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure systems that support affordable housing initiatives.

Qualifications

8-10 years of software engineering, data engineering, or technology delivery experience.
At least 2+ years of people management and leadership experience.
Experience leading multiple agile squads and delivering data pipelines, reporting, data products, and AI-enabled solutions.
Hands-on or technical leadership with AWS, Snowflake, Python, PySpark, SQL; Cortex experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead multiple agile squads delivering modern data platform capabilities (data pipelines, reporting, data products, platform modernization, AI-enabled solutions).
Provide technical direction across squads, guide architecture and implementation decisions.
Partner with Product Owners, architecture, and stakeholders to align priorities and deliver outcomes.
Drive design and implementation of data pipelines and AI capabilities using AWS, Snowflake, Python, PySpark, SQL.
Establish software engineering standards: scalable design, testing, deployment discipline, and production readiness.
Oversee production support: incident triage, root-cause analysis, observability, and reliability.
