WEX Inc. invites you to join the Data Acquisition Team as a Data & AI Intern (Graduate/Master’s) for a 13-week Summer Internship running from late May to mid-August.

The program offers mentorship, real-world projects, and exposure to AI/ML initiatives in data ingestion and governance. You’ll work across batch, streaming, and event-driven data patterns, gaining hands-on experience with Java, Python, and SQL, plus cloud platforms and modern development practices, to help shape scalable data

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrated programming experience, including the ability to write, read, test, debug, and troubleshoot code.
• Hands-on experience developing software or programming solutions through projects, internships, coursework, or personal work.
• Hands-on experience using at least one programming language, such as Java, Python, C++, C#, JavaScript, or another relevant language.
• Ability to apply programming concepts and problem-solving skills to develop effective and maintainable solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to independently apply programming skills to solve problems or build software.
• Hands-on experience working with data, including data analysis, manipulation, or visualization.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to AI/ML projects addressing fraud prevention, credit risk, and real-time decisions.
• Help develop and enhance an agentic AI platform and intelligent agents to automate workflows.
• Develop data transformation tools to process, enrich, and optimize core company data.
• Design AI-assisted workflows to optimize production environments.

Your future starts here.**About the Team/Role:**We are seeking a highly motivated and talented student in Computer Science or a related field to join our **Data Acquisition Team** as the entry point to WEX’s Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) platform — here we are responsible for ingesting, validating, and orchestrating raw data from dozens of internal systems and third-party providers. You’ll work across multiple data domains and ingestion patterns—batch, streaming, and event-driven ensuring that quality, performance, and governance are embedded in every step. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
