Zus Health seeks an enthusiastic software engineering co-op to join the Data Acquisition team in Boston. Work on data pipelines that collect and transform healthcare data from many sources and make it usable within the Zus platform.
You’ll use Go as the primary language, with Python components as needed, and leverage AWS services like Lambda, DynamoDB, and S3. This hybrid co-op runs January through May/June, with collaboration across teams to deliver scalable solutions.
Zus Health is a platform company on a mission to steward the migration of healthcare from silos and monopolies to more effective, precise care that is based on a complete, real time understanding of patients. As we move from a small number of imprecise drugs and a small number of generic “everything care” health systems to a large number of highly targeted, digital-first care delivery organizations, we must also accommodate a migration to targeted software workflows. Zus has built the picks and shovels for the migration. A national API first MPI and common patient record, the fastest and most complete data network in the nation, and a growing library of data automations and transformations that increase the profitability of provider patient centered care. Founded in 2021 by Jonathan Bush, co-founder and former CEO of athenahealth, Zus partners with healthcare’s greatest inventors – payers and providers of all kinds – by maximizing the value of true patient insight.
We are looking for an eager software engineering co-op to help build the next generation of healthtech tools. This co-op will be part of the Data Acquisition team. This team is responsible for collecting health data from a broad range of internal and external sources and making that data useful for users of the Zus platform. The engineer joining this team will help build software that transforms, validates, and enriches data retrieved from healthcare data networks. The ideal candidate will be excited to take on the challenge of unifying diverse health care data sources to bring a clear picture of patient needs to our customers in ways that the developers of said data sources never thought or cared about.
You will work on data pipelines that operate on large scale data using a variety of AWS services ( Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, etc). Go is our language of choice, although we also have some components written in Python. The team is responsible for deploying, maintaining, and operating its pipelines and services.

Please Note: Research shows that candidates from underrepresented backgrounds often don’t apply unless they meet 100% of the job criteria. While we have worked to consolidate the minimum qualifications for each role, we aren’t looking for someone who checks each box on a page; we’re looking for active learners and people who care about disrupting the current healthcare system with their unique experiences.
We do not conduct interviews by text nor will we send you a job offer unless you’ve interviewed with multiple people, including the Director of People & Talent, over video interviews. Job scams do exist so please be careful with your personal information.
