Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Junior Software Signal Processing Engineer to design, develop, test, and optimize radar signal processing software in a contract role based in Colorado Springs. The candidate will work with DSP toolsets, CUDA, and AI-enabled tooling to enhance development tasks while collaborating with hardware engineers and designers.

The position requires DoD Secret clearance (or eligibility), strong C/Python/CUDA skills, and Linux experience, with a focus on RF signal processing and GPU

• Proficiency in C, Python, and CUDA.
• Experience with Linux operating systems and RF signal processing.

Job Title: DARC Junior Software Signal Processing EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Junior Software Signal Processing Engineer to join our team. This role involves designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging applications and systems that incorporate logical and mathematical solutions for deep space radar support.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications software and systems with logical and mathematical solutions.

• Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and hardware engineers.

• Plan, design, develop, and utilize electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.

• Determine computer user needs and analyze system capabilities to resolve problems regarding program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.

• Prepare operating instructions and design compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.

• Develop and optimize radar signal processing algorithms and pipelines using DSP System Toolbox, Signal Processing Toolbox, and Phased Array System toolsets.

• Utilize GPGPU acceleration, such as CUDA, for performance-critical signal processing and analytics workloads.

• Leverage AI-enabled engineering tooling to enhance development tasks, including code explanation, refactoring, and test generation, while maintaining engineer accountability for reviewed code.

Essential Skills

• Active DoD Secret clearance at the time of application.

• 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Science, 3 years with a Master’s degree in Science, or 1 year with a Ph.D.

• Proficiency in C , Python, and CUDA.

• Experience with Linux operating systems.

• Strong background in RF Signal Processing.

• Experience with GPU optimization.

• Familiarity with NVIDIA MatX library.

• Experience with AI tooling.

• Experience with high-side development and processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Solid understanding of C .

• Experience with CUDA and MadX library sets.

• Understanding of radar signal processing, RF, and Matlab.

• Possession of at least two out of the three top skills: secret clearance, signal processing, and CUDA.

Work Environment

The role follows a 9/80 work schedule, with every Friday worked being remote. The work location is conveniently situated near the COS Airport at the COCO-1 building, with no base work required. The team focuses on deep space radar support, offering 24/7, all-weather capabilities that enhance the detection, tracking, identification, and characterization of objects in deep space. This environment promises higher sensitivity, better accuracy, increased capacity, and more agile tracking than current radars capable of tracking objects at geosynchronous earth orbit altitudes, including tracking launches to these altitudes.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Colorado Springs, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $135000.00 - $160000.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
