Job summary

The Washington Ballet is seeking a Company Manager to oversee dancer schedules, travel, visas, and health coordination with the Artistic and Production teams. You will liaise with AGMA/CBAs, manage budgets, payroll, and production contracts, and support auditions and housing logistics.

You will also ensure accurate communications with artists, staff, and presenters, maintaining organized records and facilitating a professional work environment across all departments.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of Company Management experience for a similar size performing arts organization.
• Budgeting experience is required.
• Experience with union CBAs including AGMA, IATSE, USA, AFM.
• Experience with contract preparation, negotiation, execution, and Visa processing.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, diplomacy, tact and discretion.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to collaborate with artists and staff.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Understanding of artist needs and challenges in a performing arts setting.
• Ability to multitask and deliver results under tight schedules.
• Knowledge of theatre operations; Ballet/Dance company operations a plus.
• Proficiency with Office365 and related tools; able to learn new software quickly.

Responsibilities

• Work with Artistic and Production departments to manage dancer schedules, travel, and health logistics.
• Serve as liaison with AGMA, other unions, and CBAs; participate in negotiation processes.
• Coordinate dancer health/wellness and workers' compensation processes.
• Manage payroll coordination and visa processing for international personnel.
• Assist in contract creation and administration for artistic and production staff.
• Maintain budgets and track artist-related expenses; ensure compliance with agreements.
• Organize auditions, housing, travel, and artist communications.
• Support production through on-site presence and documentation.
