Job summary

Ensemble Performing Arts is seeking passionate dance instructors to join the teaching team working with Evolve Dance Company in Rockford, IL. In-person, part-time roles focus on delivering engaging classes and helping young dancers grow in a supportive studio community.

We welcome instructors who can teach all styles, with Thursday evenings (4:00 PM – 9:00 PM) as a core time and potential substitutions Monday–Thursday and Saturdays. Join a team dedicated to More Than Just Great Dancing!®

Are you a passionate dance instructor who loves working with children? Ensemble Schools is looking for experienced dance teachers to join our teaching team at Evolve Dance Company. Our growing studio in Rockford, IL, focuses on providing quality instruction in a safe environment. We're seeking instructors who can deliver engaging, in-person lessons and contribute to the vibrant dance community. Our positive classrooms are staffed by amazing teachers who go beyond teaching dance technique to developing important life skills in students because Evolve is about More Than Just Great Dancing!®

We are looking for someone that can teach all styles and levels. We need someone available on Thursdays from 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM. We're also hoping to find someone willing to substitute teach all throughout the week (Monday - Thursday, 4:00-9:00 and Saturdays 9:00 AM-12:00 AM)

Responsibilities

• Instruct group classes in teaching foundational dance technique in multiple styles.
• Have and utilize solid foundation in various dance styles.
• Choreograph recital dances for recreational students.
  
• Showcase a strong background in dance through educational, teaching, and/or performing experience.
• Demonstrate a genuine love for teaching and experience working with young dancers.
• Provide reliable transportation and pass a routine background check.
• Exhibit traits of dependability, professionalism, enthusiasm, punctuality, and friendliness.

Preferred Qualifications

• Enthusiastic and vibrant personality for engaging young dancers.
• Post-secondary dance training experience such as a certificate or degree in dance performance, education, or related fields (not mandatory but a plus).

Evolve Dance Company started as a dream of Artistic Director, Jenny Vause, and became a reality in June of 2005. Since opening, Evolve continues to provide quality instruction to dancers in Rockford and the surrounding areas.

We are very proud of our teachers whose accomplishments include numerous choreography awards at competitions, choreography for children’s theaters, professional back-up dancing, and work with local churches and school musical.
