Job summary

Ensemble Performing Arts in Rockford, IL seeks an enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to support recreational dance classes at Evolve Dance Company. You will work with lead instructors to create engaging, safe, and organized sessions for students of all ages and levels.

Responsibilities include assisting with stretching, demonstrations, and class management while helping students grow in confidence and technique. This role offers a supportive studio environment and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in dance, sports, education, or childcare settings.
• Basic dance training or studio experience.
• Energetic, patient, and encouraging personality.
• Dependable, professional, punctual, and friendly.
• Passion for helping beginner and recreational students grow and enjoy dance.

• Communicate positively with students, families, and staff.
• Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to support each class.
• Provide reliable transportation and pass a routine background check.

Evolve Dance Company started as a dream of Artistic Director, Jenny Vause, and became a reality in June of 2005. Since opening, Evolve continues to provide quality instruction to dancers in Rockford and the surrounding areas.

We are very proud of our teachers whose accomplishments include numerous choreography awards at competitions, choreography for children’s theaters, professional back-up dancing, and work with local churches and school musicals.
