Role Responsibilities

As a KIPP Texas Public Schools Teacher, your core responsibilities include:

  • Instructional Delivery and Assessment
  • Develop year-long Texas State standards-based unit and lesson plans tailored to all students’ needs.
  • Utilize assessment data to adapt plans, promoting student academic growth.
  • Incorporate feedback continuously for improvement.
  • Academic and Cultural Support
  • Collaborate with teams to foster critical thinking and academic rigor.
  • Build trusting, respectful relationships with students and families.
  • Participate in school functions like supervision, meetings, open houses, and conferences.
  • Create and communicate individualized learning plans to families.
  • Meet professional obligations, including punctuality and deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Texas Teacher Certificate appropriate for the level/subject, if applicable*
  • Knowledge of the assigned core subject area
  • Highly qualified per NCLB guidelines, if applicable
  • Satisfactory background check; employees cover fingerprinting fee (~$50)

*A valid Texas Teacher’s certificate is required for all Pre-K4 and Special Education positions. Proof of licensure is required before employment. More info here.

Compensation & Benefits

The starting salary is $59,000, with potential increases based on experience. Benefits include:

Additional Compensation Elements

The Teacher Career Pathway (TCP) rewards impact with up to $15,000 annually. As a TEA Teacher Incentive Allotment district, teachers can earn up to an additional $32,000 per year.
