Job description

NOTE: This position is for the 2025-2026 school year. The salary will be based on the 2025-2026 salary schedule which is not yet approved by the Board of Education. The salary listed is based on the current year's salary schedule.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal, Athletic Director, Head Cheerleading Sponsor

SUPERVISES: 12 students

JOB GOAL: To instill character and leadership skills through the use of athletic cheerleading techniques while encouraging sportsmanship and spirit among students, athletes, parents, coaches, staff, and the community at large.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Attend coaches’ clinic and rules meetings.
  2. Attend varsity squad practices during summer (4 times per week x 8 weeks).
  3. Attend fall and winter practices (one per week).
  4. Assist in sponsorship of games (10 per season).
  5. Assist in coaching, supervision and facilitation of cheerleading requirements (both physical and character building).
  6. Assist in coaching and supervision at practice and at games.
  7. Work with head sponsor and junior varsity sponsor to ensure optimal use of varsity squad time and development.
  8. Assist in yearly try-outs and fundraising projects.

DURATION OF POSITION: June – March (summer, fall and winter sports season, March try-outs)
